The Hydra-N6™ tablet, SECO USA’s fourth generation ARM platform, provides an updated sunlight readable display, wireless capability, and a configurable rugged external connector interface which can provide wired interfaces atypical of tablet devices. Targeted for military, medical, or other industrial or commercial applications, the fully rugged tablet offers the versatility and portability of a consumer tablet with the durability and long production life of a MIL-SPEC mobile device. The Hydra-N6 meets wide-ranging specifications for temperature, fluid contaminates, solar loading, fungus and immersion, while offering the full functionality expected from a compact mobile tablet.
The Hydra-N6 features a 7” WSVGA (1024×600), full color sunlight-readable display with automatic brightness control and display rotation. A resistive multi-touch panel enables use with thick gloves and in wet environments, while its chemically strengthened glass substrate offers impact resistance. Capacitive touch options are available. Two programmable buttons (which default to volume control) and a power button complete the user interface.
External connectors (all IP-67 rated): USB Type A, USB OTG Type C, DC power input barrel jack, and a rugged expansion connector (DB-26). Tablet features include: camera, microphone, stereo speaker output, haptic feedback, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and more. A mPCIe slot can host a number of plug-in cards, including cellular modems (supported by an internal SIM slot). The low-power device features a 44 WHr Lithium Polymer battery and can run up to 8 hours on a full charge.
Expansion connector interface options include: Ethernet, RS-232, RS-485, CAN, SPI, I2C, GPIO, USB 2.0, and stereo line out and line in.

The Hydra-N6 is designed modularly, allowing for easy customization of the tablet, including: alternative display sizes or resolutions, camera resolutions, external peripheral connections, user controls, packaging, operating systems, configuration lock-down, and security features. SECO USA has delivered custom tablet solutions for a variety of applications including drone control, medical devices for patient treatment, industrial field operations, vehicle maintenance, and security.
SECO USA also offers remote device management and other IoT technologies for the Hydra-N6.
